Packing basics

Careful folding and packing is crucial for the life of your TAU DLS and ensures that structural reinforcements are kept in the best possible condition..

WarningWhile folding, the glider fabric should not be dragged across the ground unnecessarily, or subjected to other mechanical stresses.
WarningThe Nylon or Nitinol leading edge profile rods must always lie flat on top of each other and not be kinked when packing.
InfoFor folding assistance, the centre of an ADVANCE wing is also marked with a logo label at the trailing edge.

The following is a list of common packing systems and their comparisons in speed, handling and care quality.

Using a TUBEBAG

The TAU DLS comes with a TUBEBAG as standard. Packing with a TUBEBAG is easy, protects the material and reduces mechanical stress on the leading edge. Unnecessary ground contact and the associated abrasion of the canopy are minimised. A TUBEBAG retains the glider shape and improves its lifespan.

InfoThe glider must be packed according to the specified folding pattern. The accompanying video shows the basic technique for packing with the TUBEBAG. With the TAU DLS, however, the final folding process must be carried out according to the pattern shown.
HintWhile at home, release the compression strap and store your glider in its unfolded TUBEBAG.
